From moo to you: Dairy know how

Welcome, fellow farmers! Get ready to master your Hay Day dairy with our easy-to-follow guide. We're here to help you keep that milk flowing and those machines churning, ensuring you're always stocked with the creamy goodness you need for your farm, town, and boats. Let's make dairy management udderly fantastic!

Balancing your dairy for maximum output

Mastering your Hay Day dairy is all about smart timing. During active gameplay, focus on fast-producing items like cream. When you step away from the game, switch to longer production times for items such as cheese and goat cheese. This strategy ensures your dairy is always busy, maximizing your output and keeping your barn stocked.

The cream of the crop schedule

Here’s a quick breakdown of what you'll need for essential dairy products:

  • A full set of cow feed (15 bags) requires about 5 slots.
  • Cream needs 9 milk.
  • Butter needs 18 milk.
  • Cheese needs 27 milk.
  • Goat cheese needs 9 goat milk.

Remember to harvest milk from all 15 cows every hour, then feed them 15 bags of feed. Consistency is key to keeping your dairy running smoothly!

Daytime dairy: Cream and butter

When you're actively playing, prioritize cream production. It only takes 20 minutes (or 17 minutes with a 3-star machine), making it perfect for queuing when you log in every 15-30 minutes. Cream is essential for ice creams, cakes, coffees, and soups!
Butter also takes 20 minutes (17 minutes with a 3-star machine). Build up your butter supply in short intervals between your active gameplay sessions. Your dairy machine should never stop running!

Offline dairy: Cheese and goat cheese

For your breaks, queue up cheese and goat cheese. Cheese takes an hour to produce, making it ideal for medium breaks of 2-4 hours. For longer absences, especially overnight, goat cheese is your best friend. It takes 1.5 hours to make, so stacking 6-9 slots will keep your machine busy throughout the night. Wake up to a full stock of goat cheese!

PRO TIP: When you start any account, ALWAYS UNLOCK ALL SLOTS FOR DAIRY FIRST!

AIM: Keep a stock of 15 cream, 20 butter, 10 cheese, 10 goat cheese. So Boat, Truck, or derby tasks don't drain your supplies instantly.
